Art's Cool Summer Workshops 2010 now accepting enrollees!

Let your child's potentials in the arts grow in an environment of fun and discovery uniquely provided by a children's interactive museum! Museo Pambata has prepared it's Arts Cool summer workshops that will keep kids up on their toes this summer. Starting April, Museo Pambata will be holding various workshops for young children, teens, and adults too.

Learn basic painting techniques from children's book illustrator and art teacher Hubert Fucio in the Basic Art Workshop for children aged four to eight years old.

Art Spot, Art Stuff Workshop for children aged nine to 16 years old will cover painting, diorama and collage making including visits to art galleries. Visual artist and art instructor Marc Cosico facilitates.

The Express Yourself Storytelling Workshop for Kids will be facilitated by writer and Philippine Board and Books for Young People (PBBY) president, Zarah Gagatiga. It is open for children aged eight to 12 years old. A Storytelling Workshop for Adults 18 years old and above is also on offer, with premier storytelling group Alitaptap Storytellers Philippines as facilitators. Participants of the storytelling workshops will learn the art of storytelling from voice and reading techniques.

Actors Pleygrawnd, a group of film, television and theater actors, will conduct a Children's Theater workshop for kids aged four to 12 years old.

Basic and Advanced Silk Screening or Serigraphy Workshops are also open to teens and children. Facilitator Teny Arellano will teach template making and photo emulsion. Advanced class will work with ceramics and wood.

Art Workshop for Children: Basic Art
Help your child discover the artist within by joining the creative sessions which make use of play and other fun activities. Workshop module include various art media from drawing, crafts, model making and installation art.

For children ages 4-8 years old
Dates and Time: April 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27 and 29 (TThS) ; 9:30-11 AM
Fee: 8 sessions, P 3,500

Art Workshop for Children and Teens: Art Spot, Art Stuff
Join this integrated art workshop with lessons from advanced drawing, sketching to mixed media. Discover also other areas of visual arts through visits to various galleries and museums that encourage appreciation of the arts.

For children aged 9-16 years old
Dates and Time: April 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26 and 28 (MWF); 9:30-11 AM
Fee: 8 sessions: P4,000

Children’s Theater
Children build skills in acting, music, and dance. Workshop participants are encouraged to express themselves, collaborate with others, explore the creative process, and get to know the elements of story, character, themes, and genres.

For children ages 4-12 years old
Dates and Time: April 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 (First 2 weeks –MWF, last week Sunday-Friday) 2-5 PM

Express Yourself! A Storytelling Workshop for Kids
Through this workshop children will learn to use their voice and their body as creative tools in interactive storytelling.

For children ages 8-12 years old
Dates and Time: April 17 to 18 (Sat and Sun); 9-11 am
Fee: 2 sessions, P3,000

Storytelling Workshop for Adults
Learn the art of storytelling from voice, reading and acting techniques. Try different styles of storytelling, from solo read-a-loud to chamber theater.

Interested participants who are 18 years old and above

Fee: 2 sessions: P3,500

Silk Screen or Screen-Printing (Serigraphy) Workshop
Learn the basic techniques to silk screen printing and learn to produce your own silk-screened art pieces on shirts and other cloth materials. Advanced class will learn to use other materials like wood and ceramics.

For Teens and Adults
Dates and Time: Basic: April 24, Sat; Advanced: April 25, Sun, both from 8:30 am-12 nn
Fee: P 2,500 each for Basic and Advanced
