Ateneo ENTABLADO relives an ethnic Filipino epiko through contemporary music and dance in its season-ender, Labaw Donggon: Ang Banog ng Sanlibutan.
A musical-drama adaptation written for the stage by Dr. Nicanor Tiongson, it uses the fusion of contemporary and ethnic elements in pursuit of delivering a different perspective of Filipino values.
Director Dr. Jerry Respeto, through the original music of award-winning composers Dr. Jema Pamintuan and Terresa Barrozo, and contemporary choreography of Sergio Gahol and Elena Laniog, mounts the story of Panay hero, Labaw Donggon and his pursuit to fulfill his destiny of bringing peace to the three great kingdoms of old - Kailaliman, Kalagitnaan, and Kaitaasan (The Underworld, The Earth, and The Sky).
