February 2013 at UPFI Film Center

The UP Film Institute marks this year’s UP Diliman Month and National Arts Month with screenings for February 2013 at the UPFI Film Center in UP Diliman.

The legacy of National Artist Lamberto Avellana whose birth month is February is relived with a distinct presentation of some of his iconic works.

Cineastes Studio, the premier state university organization of film majors, mounts this year’s UP Diliman leg of the campus tour for the latest selections from the Cinema One Originals Film Festival.

The month’s romance factor is provided by the finale special for The Twilight Saga that hallmarks both parts of Breaking Dawn.

Episodes in the country’s history find their way to the big screen with Raymond Red’s Sakay and Mark Meily’s El Presidente plus a surprise triptych of features respectively from Adolf Alix, Raul Jorolan and Joel Lamangan that all happen to utilize revolts in Edsa as backdrop and motif.

Foremost highlight of the month consists of a combo of current and retro titles from Peque Gallaga, Nick Deocampo and Raymond Red teeming with insights and serving as studies on film as creative form and phenomenon.
