Boxes of Paradox: 5 Short Films by Richard Soriano Legaspi

Award-winning filmmaker Richard Soriano Legaspi will present his five short films in “Boxes of Paradox” at the Freedom Bar in Anonas, Quezon City on February 4, Monday, 7 p.m. onwards.

Legaspi, also a Palanca awardee and a 2013 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival finalist for “Primera Bella,” will showcase “Ambulancia” (Ambulance), “Pagtakas sa Kawalan” (Escape to Nothingness), “Kinulayang Kiti” (Hand-Painted Feathers), “Manenaya” (Waiting), and “Pamatid-Gutom” (Hunger Pangs) as part of Ninja Productions’ Movie Night Mondays.

These short films have been screened and have competed in different film festivals in Austria, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, North Korea, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States from 2007 to 2012.

Legaspi’s first full-length film “Paano Ko Sasabihin?” starring Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales won the Special Jury Prize, Audience Award and Best in Editing at the 2009 Cinema One Originals and was a finalist at the Babel Film Festival in Italy.

Entrance fee is pegged at 150 pesos with free beer.
