Jayson Oliveria: Remove All Warning Labels

Anonymous Filed Under:

B.A.R. proudly presents for its inaugural exhibition the works of Jayson Oliveria in the show Remove All Warning Labels, that explores Contemporary Painting's condition of subjective nihilism countered by strategies of aesthetic pluralism through the application of random texts and images painted over abstract fields of expressive mark making and figurative compositions.

Oliveria's works confront painting's terminal condition of placing subjectivity critical of contemporary culture's alienating context, of using the various pictorial strategies currently available to the painter in order to enrich an artistic language deemed languid due to its exhausted conventions, to these he has succeeded by way of humor and panache that are entirely his own.
