"FORTE" at Pinto Gallery

Pinto Art Gallery presents "forte," a group exhibition of long-time Salingpusa friends. The show features recent works of Angel Ulama, Andy Orencio, Anthony Palomo, Cris Villanueva Jr., Cocoy Santos, Erwin Leano, Ferdie Montemayor, Jim Orencio, Manny Garibay, Mikel Parial, Neil Manalo, Rolly Acuna, Tammy Tan, and Weena Espardinez.

The Salingpusa goes way back to the early 80's, when each of them had nothing so much as a worn out brush and a dream. Decades later, the worn out brushes replaced, but their friendship still stands as the easels that support their canvases. Salingpusa has evolved many times, and "forte" is a celebration of that evolution. Their diverse individual styles, coupled with friendships lost and gained, confirm that Salingpusa is more than the sum of its parts. It is a realization of a singular vision made by a handful of lanky students on the third floor of the UP Main Library--once the College of Fine Arts--that art is synonymous to life and life to art.

The show opens on April 28, 3pm, and runs until May 10, 2013.

Pinto Art Gallery is at No.1 Sierra Madre, Grand Heights, Antipolo City.
