On his latest work entitled "A Love Affair with Life," Bob Nuestro combines his techniques of photography and painting. The images are chosen from the digital stock of the artist's street photography portfolio, taken in different locations such as New York, Chicago, Makati, and Hong Kong. The images are then printed on watercolor paper and painted with acrylic and graphite to create tension and continuity between the two media. The need for editions is foregone, thus producing one original work. “A Love Affair with Life” narrates the artist’s unending quest to find meaning in his works through the compass of his own experiences. The resulting images are poised to inspire an artistic investigation of issues such as rapid urbanization, recycling, and some aspects of globalization.
