Artist Presentation: Kanade Yagi
Research & Project Residency Program IV / 2013.
November 19, 2013, Tuesday, 1-3PM
98B COLLABoratory is proud to welcome Kanade Yagi to its Project & Research Residency Program. This is the fourth time that 98B has taken art practitioners under its wing to assist them in their specific undertakings. Kanade Yagi was born in Saitama, Japan; she lives and works in Tokyo. She studied contemporary art at Tokyo Zokei University and CCA Kitakyushu. Since 1999, she has been creating time-based artwork for public spaces while exploring situational concepts. Her artworks often focus on shifting the relationships between subject and object as she traverses between the human timescale with other timescales (for example, astronomical timescale).
In 2013, she began to travel abroad extensively in order to research various socio-cultural conditions and to widen the scope of her art practice.
